The Inn at Stonecliffe Summer Wedding

Jennifer + John

Sometimes you show up as a complete stranger about to document a wedding day of two people on Mackinac Island while it being probably the hottest day in July history (I can only assume it was because the day felt like fire)... and then you blink and you are on the horse and carriage heading to catch a ferry; smiling because you got to know the couple so much more. Your SD cards are filled with so many amazing moments you want to squeal. So, you do. You also sing with your second shooter, the video guys and some guests all the way down the hill to old songs. It felt like a movie. You have to pinch yourself because in that moment you realize you are living the dream that you could have only hoped for. Being surrounded by amazing people for an entire day, getting to photograph a couple and hear their love story with a view of the Lake Huron. The Mackinaw Bridge is just hanging out in the foreground like a prop you chose by hand. Every detail was on point. Jennifer and John were so wonderful. They trusted every single vision and stop we made along the way. We had lots of water breaks, some cold towels on our necks and a whole bunch of fun. The Inn at Stonecliffe staff and wedding planner Debbie from Beyond Eventful made the day go off seamlessly. I'm so grateful that I got to be a part of Jennifer and John's story. Even if it was only for a day. It was the best day!

P.S. I really liked the horse-drawn carriage driver that took us around the entire island for formal photos. She knew all the best spots, and I wish I could remember her name because she deserves a shout out at the very least if not a giant hug.
